Dare to Hope Events

On World Pancreatic Cancer Day, organisations around the world unite to light landmarks in purple — a powerful symbol of awareness, solidarity, and hope.

As part of this global collaboration, Dare to Hope will host our own
Light of Hope Vigil — a time for our community to come together to remember, reflect, and shine a light of HOPE for a brighter future for all those affected by pancreatic cancer.

If you can’t join us in person, you can still be part of this global movement of support by hosting your own Light of Hope moment — whether it's a gathering, a candle lighting, or a simple act of remembrance.

Every gesture, big or small, helps light the world in purple and brings us closer to a future filled with hope.

Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

Each November, the world comes together to shine a light on one of the toughest cancers of our time: pancreatic cancer.

World Pancreatic Cancer Day falls on November 20th, when landmarks across the globe will glow purple in solidarity.

Use the interactive map to see which Australian sites are taking part in 2025.

Led by the Australian Pancreatic Cancer Alliance, Dare to Hope is proud to join forces with organisations across Australia and around the world as part of the World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition

Together, we are sending a powerful message: pancreatic cancer can no longer be left in the dark. Collaboration strengthens our voice and honours the truth that our loved ones deserved better. The time for action is now.

Dare to Hope AFL Match

Every Easter Monday, the Dare to Hope Match is held at the MCG, bringing together Hawthorn Football Club, charity partner of Dare to Hope and Geelong Football Club in the fight against pancreatic cancer.

Returning on Easter Monday, April 6th, 2026, Hawthorn and Geelong will once again face off in this powerful fixture that honours Hawthorn premiership player and Norm Smith Medallist Paul Dear and Geelong champion and former captain Michael "Mick" Turner — both of whom lost their lives to pancreatic cancer.

More than just a game, the annual Dare to Hope Match, played live before crowds of 80,000+ and broadcast to an audience of 1.5 million+ puts pancreatic cancer firmly on the map — raising vital awareness and funds for research into a disease that is swift, deadly, and neglected for too long.
