Your favourite holiday destination? Safari in Africa. So far have done 3 separate trips to Africa. Pre-marriage 6 week camping trip through East Africa. Then 10 year wedding anniversary celebration with Paul to Botswana and Sth Africa.  Most recently a family holiday starting in Zanzibar and travelling across Tanzania with my 4 kids to fulfill a dream Paul and I had on our trip to Botswana.

How did you become involved in Dare To Hope?  Cherie Dear and I became friends at high school over 40 years ago.  It is through my personal connection with the Dear Family, that I began my involvement with Dare to Hope.   My Dad Doug also died of pancreatic cancer.
If you could have any 3 people around for dinner, who would they be and why? 
Eclectic, inspiring, caring and funny drive the choice here.  
My three would be Michelle Obama, Adam Goodes and Dylan Alcott

How did you become involved in Dare To Hope?
I met Cherie at a Beaumaris Footy Club lunch in 2024 where she was the guest speaker. The message must have really struck me, as I think it took less than a week for me to become involved in developing an ongoing purpose for Dare To Hope.
If you could have any 3 people around for dinner, who would they be and why?
Anthony Bordain to cook dinner. Dave Chappelle to provide conversation.
My wife, Jess, to enjoy it with.

I also spent over 10 years in management consulting primarily working with clients in the areas of change management, communication, HR strategy and performance management.
How did you become involved in Dare To Hope? I met Cherie and Paul when our daughter’s started playing sport together about 8 years ago and we have connected both professionally and personally ever since. I volunteered at the Dare to Hope match last year and was invited to be a board member when Dare to Hope was officially formed.
If you could have any 3 people around for dinner, who would they be and why?  
Ricky Gervais - hilarious, smart, brutally honest and loves dogs. Emma Thompson - witty, clever and classy, and my best friend so we can discuss and relive it all later.

What is the one talent you wish you had? To be able to draw/paint really well

I also volunteer my time in a variety of pancreatic cancer settings and sit on the Consumer Advisory Committee at Epworth Hospital and The Jreissati Pancreatic Centre. 
How did you become involved with Dare to Hope?  After experiencing the death of my sister from Pancreatic Cancer, I was compelled to give my time to this cause.  I found Dare to Hope online.
If you could have any 3 people around for dinner, who would they be and why? My choices are about intelligence, connection, and an open heart:  Kelly Corrigan (author, podcast host, believer in wonder). My sister, Kathy (kind, good listener, intelligent and faithful). Anderson Cooper (humanistic, learning to navigate grief, sharing with others, a force for good).
Favourite Sports team? Essendon Bombers and LA Chargers (dual nationality choices) And when questioned by my husband about my loyalty to the Bombers, I assure him Hawthorn is my second team.
If you were down to your last $20, what would you spend it on? I would split it down the middle. $10 for a coffee or drink with my husband and $10 on a quick investment with my fingers crossed.

How did you become involved in Dare To Hope
Cherie and I worked together more years ago than we probably care to remember. We wound up living and being part of the same networks and communities in Bayside – and reconnected at pilates! Like Cherie and many others, I lost my late husband to bowel cancer 15 years ago. At the time my beautiful boys were only 11 and 13. I reconnected with Cherie and we’ve shared and supported each other through the unimaginable days……..and the creation of a bright, joyful and purposeful future. I always wanted to contribute and support those working to cure cancer and supporting Cherie and the team is a way that I can do that.
If you could have any 3 people around for dinner, who would they be and why?
Any three members of my family – and would love to include Barack Obama!
Favourite Sports team?
Whoever my boys are playing for……although I am a long suffering Melbourne supporter….go Dees!

How did you become involved in Dare To Hope?
As Cherie’s sister, I’ve seen firsthand the devastating impact of pancreatic cancer, losing Paul and then our beautiful Dad just four months later. That experience changed our family forever. Being involved is both deeply personal and a privilege - a way to honour them while supporting other families facing the same unimaginable journey.
If you could have any 3 people around for dinner, who would they be and why? 
Trick question! I already have my three favourite (and loudest) dinner guests at home every night, plus my husband John. 
But if I could combine all 3 wishes for a little bit of magic, it would be my Dad. I’d give anything for one more dinner, one more story, and one more laugh around the table with him.

How did you become involved in Dare To Hope? Cherie, Paul and their family are dear friends of our family. Also, I lost my beloved sister Lou to pancreatic cancer in 2020, just before Paul received his diagnosis. How could I not be??
If you could have any 3 people around for dinner, who would they be and why? To be with both my sisters Lou and Jules again and my daughter Ruby- they’re all great storytellers
Favourite Sports team? Probably St Kilda (by default, family all follow them)  but I also really like the Bulldogs and the Swans
