In Memory of Lee Elson

By Susan Elson

Lee Elson 28/06/1963 - 10/04/2026

Lee was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer on October 10, 2025 and passed away exactly six months to the day on April 10, 2026. Lee was a devoted partner and dad to our three boys. The boys were Lee's world and everything he did was for them. He had a kind heart and a unique sense of humour and loved spending time in the ocean and surfing. Pancreatic cancer took him far too soon, but it never took his strength, he fought hard right until the end.

We share his story to honour his life and to help bring hope, awareness and change for others. Please consider making a donation to support research into pancreatic cancer - no family should have to go through this.

Lee is deeply missed and forever loved.

Together, we will inspire HOPE.

This page is dedicated to honouring someone dear to me who has been affected by pancreatic cancer.

To pay tribute to them, I am raising funds for this critically underfunded and overlooked disease. I proudly support Dare to Hope, a volunteer-led charity committed to changing outcomes for those impacted by pancreatic cancer by funding vital medical research.

Medical research is the key to achieving breakthroughs in treatment and improving survival rates. Your support can help bring HOPE to those facing this devastating disease.

Please donate today to honor our special person and make a difference.    Dare to Hope is a registered charity with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. Donations over $2 are tax deductible in Australia. You will be emailed a tax receipt.

The more people who learn about their story and the work of Dare to Hope, the greater the impact. Please share this page with family, friends, and colleagues to spread HOPE to more Australians.

Forever in My Heart, Forever Missed, On our Wedding Anniversary, Honouring Lee with HOPE

Thursday 14th May

14/05/2026

Today would have been our 22nd Wedding Anniversary, a day that should have been filled with memories and celebrating the life we built together. Instead, we are missing Lee more than words can describe.

Lee was devoted to his family and extremely  proud of our boys. Even through the hardest moments of his illness, he faced everything with courage, strength and persistence even though he was given very little hope.

What makes losing Lee even harder to comprehend is how suddenly our lives changed. Lee was fit, healthy and living life with no symptoms until just two weeks before his diagnosis with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer. In such a short time, everything changed for our family forever.

Pancreatic Cancer took far too much from Lee and from all of us who loved him. Watching someone you love go through this disease is heartbreaking beyond words. Some days seeing such rapid deterioration was unbearable to endure.

Lee leaves behind so many beautiful memories — his dry humour, loyalty, generosity and the way he always put his family first. We miss him every single day, and we always will.

In honour of Lee, we are supporting Dare to Hope and the fight for more research into Pancreatic Cancer, in the hope that one day other families may be spared this heartbreak. If you are able, please consider making a donation in Lee’s memory. Every contribution helps bring hope to families facing this devastating disease.
